HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

  It is the philosophy of ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT COMPANY LTD that accidents/injuries are preventable and therefore unacceptable in her operations. ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT LTD shall therefore integrate safety into her business and will vigorously pursue all accident prevention programmes through her well-structured and effective SAFETY Systems.

 ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT COMPANY LTD activities will therefore be organized, planned and executed in such a manner as to: –

 Protect and promote the health of its work force as well as the conduct of its activities in such a manner not to adversely affect any third party (host Community inclusive). –

 Avoid injury to any workers, sub-contractors, and third parties who are either involved in or are by ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT LTD activities. – Ensure the personal security of the work force and third parties and the security of property.

  • – Minimize the impact on the environment in which ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT COMPANY LTD Operates. Every employee of ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT LTD shall perform his/her work in accordance with this policy and work must be suspended when it is believed that essential safety systems are not in place.
  •  Management and Supervisors will be accountable for the safety of the employees working under their supervision, and will be expected to organize and conduct operations in a safe manner at all times.
  • Employees are reminded that they have a duty under the lay to take reasonable care for their own safety and safety of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions and also to co-operate with statutory safety obligations which include adherence to company SAFETY Policy, rules and regulations.
  •  The implementation of this policy is the responsibility of Supervisor, AND under delegated control and co-ordination of SAFETY Manager.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT POLICY

  •  In order to monitor the requisition, issuance, and use of PPE in the company, ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT LTD shall follow the under-listed measures to affect the control of the above-mentioned policy:
  • 1. All requisitions for bulk procurement shall be raised by HSES Department after an annual PPE audit.
  •  2. Procurement Department shall purchase the requested PPE.
  •  3. After procuring, HSES Department shall inspect the procured PPE.
  •  4. Warehouse shall store the PPE after inspection.
  • 5. Head of Department shall raise PPE collection form to HSES Department for cross checking if the worker(s) is due for collection.
  • 6. HSES Department after cross checking will send the collection form for approval before warehouse issues the requested PPE.
  •  7. The issuance shall be properly logged by the HSES Department and Materials Department respectively using staff PPE form. The Personnel Manager shall retain a copy of the PPE issuance form.
  •  8. In case of replacement, old ones should be returned before new ones are issued.

SAFETY AUDITING POLICY

ATINEL TRADING AND INESTMENT LIMITED strongly believes that systematic routine and non-routine audits of workers’ behavior, condition of work environment and tools and equipment is the best way to prevent injuries to personnel, damage to equipment and negative impact on the environment.

 Prompt auditing of the site aimed at identifying, assessing, rectifying and recovering potential hazards shall remain the center of our corporate accident prevention strategy.

 Each worker shall be encouraged to participate fully in hazard management and must therefore comply with relevant hazard management procedures.

The management shall reward active participants in this all important accident prevention strategy.

STOP WORK AUTHORITY (SWA)

  •  ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT COMPANY LIMITED is committed to protecting the health and safety of her employees and other personnel in her facility and the environment in which she conducts her business.
  •  This policy has the full support of the ED and empowers all employees, contractors and third parties to contribute to our safe and healthy workplace and protect the environment by STOPPING ANY JOB they consider unsafe or has the potential to cause harm to persons, equipment or the working environment without any fear of reprisal.
  • ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT believes that her safety management goals (health, safety and environmental goals) are consistent with her economic goals.
  • ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT Company expects that all ATINEL employees, contractors and third parties will act in a manner that is consistent with this policy.
  • This policy is one of the tools to meet these goals.
  •  Invoking the stop work authority by ANYONE (employees, contractors and third parties) in ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT facility will not be considered a negative action and there will be no retribution to the person or organization for which the person works.
  •  Also by this policy, no person will be coerced into performing a job activity which he considers unsafe or damaging to the environment.
  • Once invoked, it is expected that the activity in question will be stopped and reviewed by those performing the job and their supervisor shall determine if the SWA is warranted.
  • Persons invoking the SWA shall communicate with the supervisor to better understand why and how the hazards and risks can be mitigated.

NON-HARASSMENT AND NON-HOSTILE POLICY

  •  It is the policy of ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT LIMITED Company to maintain a working environment free of harassments of any type, including sexual harassment. Consequently, ANY conduct of a harassing nature, which is offensive, hostile or interferes with another employee’s work, is strictly prohibited.
  •  It is also the policy of ATINEL TRADING AND INESTMENT COMPANY LIMITED, to maintain a non-hostile environment. A hostile working environment is defined as one containing vulgarity, abuse, humiliation, threatening language, crude or cruel behavior, practical jokes or other inappropriate behavior, which is found to be offensive or hostile.
  • ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT has zero tolerance to harassment and hostility in the workplace. All persons working for and on behalf of ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT Company shall comply with the provisions of this policy.

          DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

  • This policy, applies at the workplace to all staff of ATINEL TRADING AND INVESTMENT COMPANY LTD, and also includes visitors and contractors during and after normal scheduled working hours.
  •  All individuals working for ATINEL TRADING AND INESTMENT LTD are expected to resume fit for duty for scheduled work and carry out such work safely and acceptably without limitations due to the use or after effects of alcohol, illicit drugs, non-prescription drugs, or prescribed medication or any other substance.
  •  Off the job and on the job involvement with alcohol or drugs can have adverse effects on the workplace, the integrity of our products and service delivery, the safety of other staff, and the ability of accomplishing our goal of achieving a drug and alcohol free workplace.
  • The company therefore places emphasis that it has zero tolerance for workers who arrive work under the influence of alcohol or drugs and/or whose ability to work is impaired by the consumption of alcohols or drugs, or who consumes alcohol or drugs within company property.
  • The company strictly forbids the use, making, sale, purchase, distribution, consumption of drugs and alcohol on company premises.
  •  To this end, the company reserves the right to conduct searches for drugs and alcohols including but not limited to lockers, filing cabinets, desks or packages which are on company property.
  •  Any drug or alcohol found as a result of such searches will be confiscated and the user or occupant of such object searched will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
